Inspection and Control of Roll Marks of Cold Rolled Strip

Date: 2022-07-05 View:

As we all know, cold-rolled strip steel has very strict surface quality requirements, among which roll printing is a defect often encountered in production. So, what is roll printing? Roll printing is a concave-convex defect with periodic distribution and irregular appearance on the surface of the steel plate. Its causes mainly include the following aspects:

1) The surface of the rolling roll is damaged, cracked or partially lost;
2) There are foreign objects on the surface of the roller, which makes the roller appear as a partial concave and convex shape;
3) The strip has iron oxide scale, which falls off and adheres to the roller.

The above are several main reasons for roll printing.

In addition, there are some other reasons for roll marks: such as the influence of steel grades: for different steel grades, according to the iron-carbon phase diagram, the value of AC3 is different, and the surface hardness and strength of the steel plate are proportional to the temperature, so the higher the temperature , the greater the possibility of sticking off the skin; the influence of chemical composition: the production of roll marks is related to the content of C, Mn, and Cr in the steel. The lower the content of these elements, the easier it is to produce roll marks, because the higher the content of these elements High means that the strength and hardness of the steel sheet are higher, so when rolling, the possibility of roll marks will be reduced.

If roll marks are found on the surface of the strip, it will affect the surface quality of the strip, which may lead to folding defects or even holes during subsequent rolling, affecting the use of customers.

How to prevent the occurrence of roll marks? The main measures are as follows:

1) Regularly check the surface quality of the roll, and deal with it in time when it is found that the roll has fallen off meat or is stuck with foreign objects.
2) According to the process requirements, regularly take large samples for investigation.
3) The number of kilometers reached by the work roll must be replaced in time.
4) During the rolling process, when there are accidents such as unfinished tails and stuck steel, the quality of the roll surface must be checked in time to prevent damage to the roll surface.
